This unusual metal construction system - made by the well-known tool maker Stanley - consisted of various sizes and shapes of hinged plates held together by pins, just like door hinges. Wheels, pulleys and even an electric motor were available and there were several sets in different sizes. However this construction system was more architectually oriented than other systems such as Erector and Meccano that used nuts and bolts.
Shown here are one of the larger sets containing the electric motor, along with several small models. The Stanlo construction system never gained the popularity of the Erector Set with its much wider variety of mechanical parts.
